“God is everywhere.“

I was reminded of this last week by Dina ElBadry, a Type Six presenter from Egypt, who told us that’s what the Sufi’s say. Though I was sitting still, the parts of me that had been restless suddenly revealed themselves, and I grew stiller. It was as if my soul got checked, and I actually felt the re-opening of my heart.  I didn’t realize it had closed. We gave her a standing O.. I stood up not because her work was brilliant, which it was, but because I didn’t realize how much I needed that reminder.

Only three days before, in San Quentin Prison, a Type 7 who has “been down” 50 years, and studying the Enneagram for five of them, took his seat on a panel alongside eight other men in blue, and told us that he’s never been more full of hope.  “My God.” We all remarked.

God IS everywhere. 

I don’t talk much about God though I feel Him like I do Spirit, the Divine, Source, and the Universe…they’re all in me, and all around us. I feel them one and the same. I was struck by how little it took for me to forget myself and my connection to the Divine. God showed up as the Seven behind bars who is sometimes much freer than me. How swift that slight turn away from Source can be. And how good it felt to remember that God is truly Everywhere.
